In order to identify and select the list of beneficiaries of the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme the government will use the Association Economic and Race Census 2011 (SEC 2011).
Village Tehsil along with village panchayats will be considered for consultation of beneficiaries before making the list under rural housing scheme. To ensure transparency in this scheme and to ensure that this scheme is eligible whether it is eligible or not.

- Under this scheme such people can apply who are living in Rented houses who do not own or have a kutcha house. The raw house means a house which is not covered by the roof It is not necessary that any person belonging to any caste person can apply for it coming from the poverty line.
- Any member of the family can apply for application in this case provided that no member of the family has any permanent house in India.
- Under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme the first priority will be given in accordance with the category, meaning that people belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Minorities and other sections will be the first beneficiaries of the benefit under this scheme.
- Such families in which there is No adult mean that no family between the ages of 16 and 59 will be given priority to such family in the family.
- A family whose head is a woman will also be given prominence in this scheme.
- Such a family in which there is No person who has received more than 25 years of age, such families will be given priority in this scheme.
- The family whose members are Divyang and which has no adult will be the priority for this scheme
- The family with No land of their own and whose maximum part of the income comes from wages will be priority for this.
Before moving forward, it is important to understand that there are four components in the PMA scheme They are:
In Citumenvaras: It is applicable for citizens who are from huts.
Beneficiary Lead Manufacturing (BLC): This applies to citizens who have their own land and are interested in construction/growth.
Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS): Citizens who can buy land/home or modify their existing home should select the Credit-Linked Subsidy Scheme. Under this scheme, citizens will get a subsidy on home loans.
Affordable housing in partnership: This criterion applies to those who have neither any land to build a house nor can they take home loans.
The application has to be submitted under one of four categories.
Prime Minister's Housing Scheme coverage and duration
1. As per the census 2011 all 4041 cs with focus on
the cities-I cities.
Legal towns will be covered in three stages which are
As follows:
Phase I (April 2015 - March 2017) - To cover 100 cities according to their aspiration from States / UTs.
Phase II (April, 2017 - March 2019) - To cover additional 200 cities.
Step-III (April, 2019 - March, 2022) - To cover all other remaining cities.
However if the Ministry receives resource-backed demand from states / UTs then there will be flexibility in relation to the addition of additional cities in the earlier stages.
2. This mission will assist in the construction of housing up to 30 square meters of floors area, including basic Civic constitutions. State / Union Territories will be in consultation with the Ministry in determining the size of the housing and other facilities at the state level but it will be without any extended financial assistance from the Center. In the slum redevelopment projects and participation, affordable housing projects should have basic civic infrastructure such as water, sanitation, sewerage, roads, electricity etc. Urban Local Bodies should ensure that there is a provision for these basic Civic services in connection with interest related interest and beneficiary-based construction.
