what is Fjällräven Polar?
Fjällräven Polar is a 300km-long journey by dogsled through the Arctic wilderness.
More than 20 ordinary people from all around the world apply to be part of this adventure of a lifetime.
They travel from Signaldalen in Norway to Väkkäräjärvi in Sweden learning from Fjällräven’s team of experts and geared up with Fjällräven’s best winter clothing and equipment.
They drive their own dogsleds take care of their own dogs prepare all their own food and set up their own camps.
New for 2018
On 16 November the application period for April’s week-long dog sledding event will open.
People from all around the world will apply with images and videos via Fjällräven’s dedicated Polar website for a chance to win one of 20 places.
Applications must apply based on their country of residents.
Key Fjällräven markets such as Germany, the UK and Sweden each had two spots available – one chosen by peer votes the other by the Fjällräven jury.
Other smaller markets such as much of Asia and Eastern Europe were grouped together. But this year the groupings will be as follows:
1. Region Nordic east: Sweden/Finland/Baltic countries.
2. Region Nordic west: Norway/ Denmark/Iceland
3. Region Mediterranean: France/Italy/Spain/Portugal/Greece/Turkey/Cyprus
4. Region UK/Benelux: UK/Ireland/ Benelux
5. Region GAS: Germany/Austria/Switzerland/
6. Region Central Europe: Poland/Czech/Slovakia/Hungary/
Slovenia/ Croatia/ Bosnia and Herzegovina/Serbia/ Albania/
Romania, Moldova/ Macedonia
7. Region Asia 1: South Korea/Japan/Taiwan/Indonesia/Philippines
8. Region Asia 2: China/Thailand/
Malaysia/Vietnam/Singapore/Australia/New Zealand
9. Region North America: USA & Canada
10. Region The World: Countries not listed above.
